RUTH LANGWIESER
Ruth Langwieser is a Swiss-Canadian artist based in Estevan on Treaty 4 territory in Saskatchewan. She studied ceramics in Geneva, Switzerland. She mainly works with stoneware and porcelain clay and introduces natural and artificial light sources.
Since her move to Canada, she introduces recycled plastic materials into her installations and investigates the interactions between human-made elements and natural forces.
Langwieser exhibited new work at the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum and has created two outdoor public installations for the Estevan Festival of Lights.
She has taught private and community-based workshops in Switzerland and Canada, and is currently participating in the CARFAC Saskatchewan 2022-2023 Foundational Mentorship Program.
